Bud Goldsworthy holds 40+ years experience in hospitality operations and management.
THE BEGINNING
Managed Riverland township community hotels for ten years, overseen by locally elected board members, with little or no experience in hospitality.

With an accounting background, management role encompassed the role of accountant/secretary, reporting to the board of directors.
Bud transitioned to Hotel Manager after purchasing the Uradlia Hotel in Adelaide Hills. Identifying the raw potential unrealised by previous owners, the business was sold within twelve months as a successful and profitable country pub.

HOTEL OPERATIONS AND REFURBISHMENT
Since the sale of the Uradlia Hotel, Bud specialised, alongside his business partners, in reinventing food, beverage and gaming hotels. By purchasing run down hotel businesses, they undertook the cleanup, renovation and relaunch, to turn the business into a profitable and saleable venue.

Whilst still acting as hotel director for multiple venues, Bud concurrently practiced as a hotel broker, servicing both South Australia
and Northern Territory.
Gaining valuable insight into how other hoteliers run their venues, he built broader knowledge of all aspects of hotel departments. This enabled Bud to capitalise on efficiencies and execute effectively within the development of his own hotel businesses.

Goodwood Cellars was pursued by Woolworths and Coles, sitting directly between the Avoca Hotel and Goodwood Park Hotel. Bud and his business partner acquired the lease and building to protect the retail arms of said hotels.

Bud still owns and operates the Goodwood Cellars, proudly independently owned and run.
2020 saw the sale of Bud's last hotel business,
The Kentish Hotel in North Adelaide.
Stepping away from hands-on management, he intends to remain active within the hotel industry. Though, this time as a hospitality consultant aiding the next generation of hoteliers and publicans in success.
